Environmental management

In 2008, Dineen Tourism Management (DTM)was awarded the prestigious Department of Lands Environmental Excellence Award.  In addition Dineen Tourism Management  (DTM) achieved Gold Gumnut status for BIG4 Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park and Silver Gumnut Status for all 4 Ballina Beachside Holiday Parks.

Design, development and project management

Dineen Tourism Management (DTM) has a stong background in the building industry being involved initially in the early tourism development days of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland. In 1987 Dineen Tourism Principal, John Dineen, was Project Manager for the Santana Group on the construction of the  144 townhouse, restaurant resort development known then as Reef Terraces and known today as the Rendezvous Reef Resort.

Further experience was then gained In 1996, Dineen Tourism Management (DTM) was contracted by the former Bond owned Cockatoo Island Resort in the remote but breathtaking Buccaneer Archipelago region of Western Australia to bring this property back to its former 5 star glory and regain its airline packaging stature. In 9 months, John Dineen re commissioned this island including its restaurant and the refurbishment and restoration of its 20 original, heritage miner’s villas to 4.5 standard.  The resort was then  packaged with Qantas and Western Australian wholesalers.  John then successfully promoted Cockatoo Island at ITB in Berlin and a wholesalers roadshow throughout Italy and Germany.

This project was so successful and in recognition of the Development and Marketing achievements of John Dineen as the Principal of Dineen Tourism Management, a contract was offered to redevelop, manage and then market the Fitzroy River Lodge in The Kimberly, Western Australia.

Refurbishment of rooms and facilities

In 1999, Dineen Tourism Management was successful in its tender to manage Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park on the shores of Narrabeen Lake for Pittwater Council.  This property, whilst having major location appeal, was neglected and in need of major refurbishment but with a restricted capital budget.  By careful planning and management and working closely as a joint venture with Pittwater Council, Dineen Tourism Management was able to bring this property to 4.5 star and increase its turnover.  The park then won the 2008 BIG4 Supreme Award for Excellence and the 2008 Department of Lands Environmental Excellence Award..
